JL Dennis is a family-run accounting practice in St Albans. We believe small business owners deserve an accountant who’s thorough, honest and easy to reach, at a fair and fixed price. That’s the practice we run.
We’re not a faceless firm, and you’ll never find yourself stuck in a call-centre queue. We’re a small business owner and a family ourselves, so we understand the juggling act: clients, cash flow, deadlines and never quite enough hours in the day.
That’s why we work thoroughly, do things by the book and make sure every obligation is met accurately and on time. It’s why we explain things in plain English rather than accountant-speak. And it’s why we invest in modern cloud software, so information flows easily between us, your records stay current and you spend less time on paperwork.

How we work
Your records live in established cloud accounting software, connected directly to your bank.
Transactions flow in automatically, receipts are captured with a photo, and you can see your numbers whenever you like. Nothing gets lost in a pile of paperwork, and we can spot problems (and opportunities) early.
What doesn’t change is the service: real people who know your business, answering the phone.
